Link's Battle by TheWizpir Link's Battle by TheWizpir
Early early morning sketch from earlier today. Can't seem to get Zelda games off my mind lately, and I don't really see any reason to. Took the scene from OoT and threw in a few elements from the final battle in SS and there ya go. Just a roughy, trying to get a firmer grasp on colors and get more comfortable doing landscapes like these. Had a lot of fun and plan on doing more!

Hope ya dig it! And as usual feel free to comment with thoughts/opinions/nonsense. What was/is your favorite Zelda game? Has it changed since newer ones have come out? And what do you think Miyamoto has in store for us with the upcoming Wii U title?

We never find out much about the Dark Link you fight in the Water Temple, do we? Ah well, I find that all the unanswered questions surrounding him and the withered tree makes it all the more interesting. The picture is fantastic, and it still keeps a certain air of mystery. Nice work!

Thanks very much! And I agree, the mystery makes it a much more interesting concept, let's you come up with your own awesome narratives =D

Wow I forgot how much the two battles are alike. I have thought a lot about which Zelda game is my favorite. I'm not sure. It really surprises me that the longer it has been out, the Wind Waker seems to be better and better. I hope the Wii U Zelda will explore some new ideas. The ideas they have mentioned so far from Nintendo Direct seem like the right direction

I agree, of all the years I've played these games, Wind Waker seems to stick in my head the hardest. Could be my own love of the sea, and the fact that the soundtrack is AMAZING. Gives me high hopes for the Wii U title, they've definitely earned my trust to let it play out however they see fit. Personally I've been sketching out a few concepts for a futuristic Zelda setting complete with your following artificial-intelligence radar interface (F.A.I.R.I.) named Nav-E =P lol

Awesome job! I like how you combined elements from both games

Thanks =D

Originally only planned to have him standing against the backdrop, but the tree really wanted to be there

Very cool and interesting how that happens. The tree is such a beautiful part of it :)
